Alexander Schinzing brings a solid, well-rounded foundation of volleyball experience both as a coach and former player. He continues to grow in his knowledge of volleyball, keeping up with current techniques and training philosophies. This will be his third year with Carolina Juniors and first year as the full time Recruiting Director for the club.

Schinzing has coached with Orlando Gold and OTVA for eight years in multiple capacities. He assisted with the OG 17 Black team who won the 2019 AAU National Championship. In 2016 and 2017, his team's earned a second place finish at the USAV and AAU National Championships respectively. Alexander has been an integral part of the development and training of all ages at Orlando Gold and OTVA through coaching, training, camps and clinics.

In addition to club coaching experience, he was a student assistant coach for North Greenville University's Women's program, where he focused on setters during training and matches. Alexander has coached at several high-level collegiate camps, such as; Clemson and University of Central Florida, Goergia Tech, and Team Florida High Performance.

Schinzing played collegiately at North Greenville University as the starting setter and captain from their 2015 inaugural season through the 2017 season. Alexander was named to the NGU All-Decade Team and set a school record of 9.55 assists per match. He finished out his colligate career at Queen's University, as team captain and starting setter. He earned "Off The Block offensive player of the week" during that season. Schinzing led his team to the IVA Tournament Championship match that season, earning the program a record finish. Schinzing was named to the IVA Championship All-Tournament Team in 2019. Alexander became the only collegiate player to make two seperate "Off The Block" All-Decade teams for North Greenville and for Queens.

In the club circuit, he set for Orlando Gold's top teams his entire career and won two AAU National Championships and played on High Performance team that competed in the USAV High Performance Championships in 2012. Schinzing lettered all four years at Olympia High School, serving as captain and starting setter, was a three-time MVP of his team and was selected to play on the Orange County All-Star Team for the Senior All-Star Tournament.

Coach Philosphy:

As long as the athletes are willing I will give all and every one of them the tools they need to succeed and understand why. Essentially, I want the focus to not just be on the "what" but the "why", if there is a higher level of understanding there can be a greater chance of success for each athlete!
