Coaches Clinics

Carolina Juniors sponsors Coaches Clinics each summer to help introduce and teach individuals interested in learning how to coach volleyball for their school or club and to assist current coaches with pointers, ideas and drills. Clinics are open to current coaches, prospective coaches, parents, players, administrators, etc interested in learning more about coaching and teaching volleyball.

CJV Coaches Clinics are offered primarily in the Summer and possibly other dates throughout the year. The clinics are ideal for the Beginner to Intermediate level coach wanting to learn from some of the area's best club, high school and college coaches. All participants must register in advance. No walk-ins the day of please. Space is limited. See chart below for dates, times, locations and prices. Additional sessions may be added, please check back for additional dates.

Clinic Details

This FREE coaches clinic is open to any coach or parent interested in learning more about ways to teach the game of volleyball. The clinic will have sessions focused on individual skills, drills to implement in your practices, offensive and defensive systems, strength and conditioning, and overall strategies to use during matches. This clinic will be directed by Zoe Bell, Brian Rosen, and Wade Pearce along with Carolina Juniors national coaches and strength and conditioning experts.

Clinic Directors

Zoe has been with CJV since the very first day, 20 years ago. She currently is the Director of the National & Regional teams. Zoe has coached overall for more than 25 years and has over 600 total wins. She is currently the head coach at Ardrey Kell High School where she won the 2012 NCHSAA 4A State Championship. She was formerly the head coach at Charlotte Latin and Providence High School. During her 10 year career at Providence, Zoe amassed an incredible 450-95 overall record, while winning four state championships and 12 conference titles. She is also a National coach at Carolina Juniors Volleyball. Her 2017 16s team qualified and participated in USAV Nationals. 

Brian just accepted a job as the assistant coach at Davidson College. Before that, Brian had success as head coach of Charlotte Country Day where he led the Bucs to back to back State Championships in 2013 and 2014. In 2014, they finished 44-1 and ranked #15 in the country. He was named Charlotte Observer Coach of the Year both years, and was also selected to the 2013 AVCA Thirty Under 30 list as one of the top 30 coaches in the country under the age of 30; one of only two high school coaches. Brian also coaches national teams at Carolina Juniors Volleyball. He has taken 6 consecutive teams to USAV Nationals. He started his coaching career as a volunteer at the University of South Carolina and Winthrop University.
