Carolina Juniors Volleyball and Sports Connection hosts a number of Local Tournaments, including our Annual New Years Day Tournament, High School Challenge Tournament, Back To School Middle School Tournament, as well as many USAV, SAVL,CJV Classics, Charlotte Regional and other tournaments throughout the year.

Best of the Carolinas Invitational - Varsity & JV

Best of the Carolinas Invitational is hosted each Fall by Sports Connection and Carolina Juniors Volleyball Club for local High School teams to compete in a local tournament against the best area teams. The Varsity division usually plays on Friday nights and Saturday, and the JV division usually play just on Saturday. The tournament is usually held sometime from mid August to mid September.

Middle School Challenge

Carolina Juniors Volleyball (CJV) has been growing the game of volleyball in the Carolinas for over 20 years! We have hosted tournaments for our club teams and local high schools for many years and  we are excited to hosts a MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT on Saturday each Fall at one of our Sports Connection and Carolina Juniors Volleyball Centers.

4v4 Tournament. Space is limited to the first 40 teams to register AND make full payment. Captains may sign up their team, make team payment, and add players later. Teams should play in the age division of their oldest player, but we are flexible. You may play with less than four players if you would like, but you must still pay the $80 team fee, and will be playing against teams of 4. 




General Tournament Information for National Tournaments (CJV Classic, Charlotte Regionals, SAVL, USAV, etc.)

Carolina Juniors Volleyball and Sports Connection are excited to be hosting a series of National Tournaments for the 2019 season at one or more of our CJV Volleyball Centers in Charlotte, NC. Directions and other details can always be found on our website at CarolinaJuniors.com and then select Sports Connection Facility Information Page under Player Resources. We have included some of the basics below.

HOURS - Doors usually will open at 7:00 am and play begins at 8:00 am for the morning matches. Most of the afternoon matches will begin at 3:00 pm.

LOCATIONS: We have 3 locations in Charlotte. Most of the tournaments are held at our Granite Street location at 10930 Granite Street, Charlotte NC 28273 AND / OR our Northlake location at 8626 Hankins Road Charlotte NC 28269. Both locations are conveniently located near the intersections of I-77 and I-485.]

MATCHES: Matches times for most tournaments will be posted on our website, AES, or SAVL or Carolina Region, by Wednesday at noon before the tournament.

PARKING - GRANITE STREET - Parking is limited in our main parking lot. We have permission to park in various parking lots near Sports Connection - Granite Street. One block past our facility are many warehouses with lots of vacant parking spots on the weekends. There is also a vacant road across the street that has room for lots of parking. Granite Street is a curbed city street and parking is usually allowed along the street as long as you park in the direction that follows traffic. Please do not park in the grass or medians and be respectful of our, and our neighbors', properties by not leaving trash on the ground. Some tournaments there may be a $5 parking fee per car for premium parking lots nearest the building.  See PDF diagram for parking guide.

PARKING - NORTHLAKE - Northlake has a paved parking lot and a gravel parking lot. Feel free to park in either lot and all around the building, but please leave a path for emergency vehicles. Northlake is located on a secondary city street, so parking on the street where there are curbs is usually allowed on the weekends. There are other businesses and available parking across the street and next door that you can choose to park at at your own risk.

ADMISSION FEE: There is usually a $5-$8 per person admission fee per day. A wristband is required for reentry. Please enter through the front doors located in the center of the buildings.  

CHAIRS: Outside chairs ARE ALLOWED to be brought in and setup in the DESIGNATED volleyball sport court spectator areas on Courts 2, 5, 8 (at Granite Street) and the middle court and spectator area (at Northlake). Chairs are also allowed on the concrete areas at Granite Street for temporary eating, but please do not "camp" and "spectate" from the concrete areas and do not block hallways, bathrooms and exits. NO FOOD or DRINKS are allowed on the Sport Court spectator areas, except bottle water. 

SPECTATORS: The center court(s) are for spectators. Please do not bring food or drinks (other than bottle water) onto the Sport Court spectator areas. There is at least one bleacher in each area and outside chairs are allowed to be setup on these middle courts.

TEAM AREA: We encourage players to store their bags and other personal belongings on the center court(s) to keep the concrete hallways and viewing areas free for eating and walking. 

OUTSIDE FOOD & TABLES: Outside Food "Storage" (Coolers, Picnic Baskets, Boxes Of Food, etc) and Food Tables are NOT ALLOWED to be brought inside the buildings. These items can be stored and setup Outside the buildings in the back and on all sides of the buildings. We WILL ALLOW food and drinks to be CONSUMED inside, but no "camping" and "storage" and no tables. NO FOOD or DRINKS on the Sport Court areas, except bottle water. We will have a number of picnic tables for all teams to share and use for eating. Please do not use the community picnic and Cafe tables for "camping" and "spectating".

TOT FOOD TRUCK: We plan to have our TOT (Time Out Truck) open at our Granite Street location. The food truck will be located in the parking lot, on the right side of the building. We also will have bottle drinks, candy and snacks for sale at our front counter inside the building. Our Northlake location has an indoor Cafe'. We accept cash and all major credit cards. Also on our website is a list of other places you can eat nearby.

TEAMS & POOLS: Pools for most tournaments will be posted on our website, AES, or SAVL or Carolina Region by Wednesday at noon before the tournament.

MATCHES & SETS: For 1 Day Tournaments, each team will play Pool Play, followed by a Playoff for the top teams. For 2 Day Tournaments, each team should play 3 Matches on Saturday and most teams will play at least 2 Matches on Sunday. For 2 day tournaments there will be No Tiebreaker Sets on Saturday, regardless of whether it is for the gold division or not. Head-to-Head will break all Two-Way Ties. In the event of a three-way tie, the following procedure will be followed: 

a. Set Percentage (If all three teams remain tied, skip to "c"). 
b. Head to Head (between the remaining tied teams)
c. Point Percentage (If all three teams remain tied, skip to "e")
d. Head to Head
e. Drawing Out of a Hat.

CHECK-IN: Coaches/teams can pickup their team packets an hour before their first match. If you are unable make it to the tournament, please email us at Office@CarolinaJuniors.com AND call the tournament director as soon as possible.

VOLLEYBALLS: Each team is responsible for providing their own warm up volleyballs. Game balls will be provided.

TRAINER & ICE: There will not be a trainer at most tournaments. Ice is available for injuries only. 

VENDORS: Many tournaments will have a T-shirt Vendor and Photo Vendor onsite.

OTHER: If you notice anything that needs our attention such as bathrooms, spills, trashcans, etc, please let the staff at the front counter know.
