COUNSELOR IN TRAINING PROGRAM

Our Counselor In Training Program (CIT) is a leadership development Summer Camp Program that will develop skills that apply to camp, sports, school and life.  Each participant will learn the fundamentals of leading games, sports drills and camp activities.  They will learn age appropriate child development and the responsibility of working with children.  Counselors In Training also receive American Red Cross certification in First Aid & CPR.

While learning the importance of service through hands-on training, CITs will experience all the fun of camp and building strong, lasting friendships.  Each CIT will be partnered with different Camp Counselors to assist young campers in their daily sports and activities, and CITs will be evaluated on their performance.

Interacting with campers and representing Sports Connection requires a certain level of maturity.  For this reason, the CIT program is very selective.  Interested teens must be 14-15 years of age (14 yrs by August 20) and complete the CIT Application to be considered for an interview. Only a selected number of applicants will be interviewed, and the chosen applicants are required to submit two letters of reference during the interview. After the interview process is completed, applicants will be notified if they have been accepted into the program.

The cost of the CIT program is $85 per week.  All selected participants are required to attend the CIT Training Week (June 11-15, 2012) and are then eligible to attend as many weeks as they wish.  There are 10-15 CIT positions available each week of camp.

 

   CIT Leadership Development Program
 Ages  Boys and Girls ages 14 & 15.  Must be 14 by Aug. 20, 2012.  
 Camp Days / Times  Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
 Online Application  Only selected applicants will be interviewed for the CIT program.

 Required Training Week  All CITs must attend the training week of June 11-15, 2012, unless you are a returning CIT from the previous year.
 Camp Fee  $85 per week, includes CIT shirt.
 Lunch and Snacks  CITs bring their own or purchase at camp. 
 Lunch Orders  (Optional)  Lunch is $5/day and must be order prior to start of each week.

Optional Lunch Program  The Sports Connection is offering an Optional Hot Lunch Program Monday-Thursday each week of camp.  The daily hot lunch includes a drink and is $5 per day per child.  Parents can register and pay for the lunch program on the first day of camp or online.
